Our Story
Hugs n Bubbles began with a lifelong passion for skincare, natural living, and helping people feel comfortable in their skin.
Founder Patricia Westervelt entered the beauty industry in 1972 after leaving college to pursue her passion for cosmetics and skincare. Over the years, that passion evolved into decades of education and hands-on experience, becoming a licensed esthetician in 1999, introducing handmade soap in 2005, and later becoming a certified aromatherapist in 2007.
Growing up in Atlanta with a mother who believed deeply in organic gardening and natural living shaped Patricia’s understanding of the connection between nature and wellness from an early age. Those experiences inspired a lifelong appreciation for plant-based ingredients, essential oils, and holistic skincare traditions.
As someone who personally struggles with eczema and sensitive skin, Patricia understands how frustrating uncomfortable skin can be. That experience led her to create handcrafted goat milk soaps designed to feel gentler, creamier, and more nourishing than harsh commercial cleansers.
Today, every soap bar is still handcrafted in small batches with care, intention, and a belief that skincare should feel comforting, simple, and connected to nature.

Goat milk soap is naturally rich in vitamins, fatty acids, and moisturizing properties that help create a gentler cleansing experience for sensitive, dry, and everyday skin. Combined with nourishing oils and traditional cold process methods, our soaps help leave skin feeling soft, balanced, and comfortable instead of stripped or tight.
Every product is handcrafted in small batches using decades of esthetician and aromatherapy experience, thoughtfully selected ingredients, and traditional soap-making methods. We focus on gentle cleansing, nourishing formulations, and simple skincare inspired by nature without harsh detergents, unnecessary fillers, or overpowering ingredients.
We believe skincare should start with ingredients your skin understands. Our handcrafted formulas feature goat milk, plant-based oils, essential oils, clays, botanicals, and skin-loving ingredients carefully chosen to support healthier-feeling skin while avoiding harsh detergents, parabens, phthalates, and unnecessary chemicals.
For those who spend their lives helping others, we believe in doing the same. Soap bars that are imperfect, discontinued, damaged, or simply not quite right are donated to women’s shelters to hopefully bring a small moment of comfort, dignity, and care to someone going through a difficult time. Sometimes a warm shower and a beautifully scented handmade soap can mean more than people realize.
